Bellator MMA president Scott Coker announced Friday that Koreshkov (22-3) and Larkin (20-7, 1 NC) will fight in the main event of Bellator 229 at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, on Oct. 4.
The two contenders were originally set to fight at Bellator 219 this past March, but Larkin was forced to withdraw due to an injury. Koreshkov went on to defeat replacement Mike Jasper by unanimous decision.
It was the third win in in four fights for Koreshkov, whose only losses in his past 11 fights have come to Douglas Lima. The two met at Bellator 206 last year in the opening round of the Bellator Welterweight Grand Prix and Lima won the trilogy bout by fifth-round submission.
Larkin has bounced back from an 0-2 start to his Bellator career by picking up consecutive decision wins over Ion Pascu and Fernando Gonzalez. This will be Larkin’s second time headlining a Bellator show.
