Arsenal on the Haaland hype train
Arsenal are reportedly interested in Norweigian sensation Erling Braut Haaland, with Manchester United also heavily linked with a move.
Haaland’s rise to prominence has been incredible this season.
The striker has scored an impressive 15 goals in 12 games for RB Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga.
Though, it’s his performances in the Champions League which have made plenty of teams stand up and take note of Haaland.
The Norweigian scored a hat-trick on his competition debut against Genk, before following that up with a substitute goal against Liverpool.
Haaland then went and scored twice against Napoli, before scoring one goal in the return leg in Naples.
His impressive group stage performances see him top the Champions League goalscoring charts with seven goals.
After impressing on Europe’s top stage, clubs are lining up to sign him.
Now, we can add another club to that list.
Emery joining the fray
According to Sport BILD, as cited by Sport Witness, Arsenal are as interested as Manchester United in signing Erling Braut Haaland.
Manchester United were heavily linked last week, including a January deal which could see Haaland loaned back to Salzburg for the remainder of the season.
Now, Sport BILD claim Arsenal are just as interested and both Haaland and his father have already visited the north London club.
Whether they will follow up on that interest is yet to be seen.
Sister club RB Leipzig to make a move?
As Red Bull Salzburg’s sister club, they could have leverage over a move.
Now, their sporting director Markus Krösche has hinted at a move next summer.
Speaking to Sport BILD, as cited by Bundesliga journalist Ronan Murphy on Twitter, Krösche claims he’s ‘taking a look around with next summer in mind.’
“He’s a very good player who does an exceptionally good job in both the league and the Champions League,” he explained.
“Of course, we’re taking a look around with next summer in mind.”
