Davies set for new deal
Ben Davies joined Tottenham in 2014 from Swansea for a fee believed to be around £11.3m.
Davies has since gone on to make 168 appearances across all competitions for Spurs.
In those 168 games, the Welsh international has scored four and assisted 16.
Davies featured 40 times throughout the 2018/19 season.
Ben Davies also recently had a hernia operation, which he looks to be recovering fine from.
The left-back’s current deal with Tottenham is set to expire in 2021.
However, according to the Telegraph, the 26-year-old is in advanced talks with the North London club over a new deal.
The Telegraph are claiming Davies will officially sign the alleged five-year deal in the coming weeks.
Spurs willing to sell three full-backs
While Tottenham are seemingly looking to tie down one of their main full-backs, they could see another three depart this summer.
The Daily Mail published a report on Saturday the 6th of July which claimed Spurs could be open to selling as many as eight players this summer.
Two of the names on that list were Kieran Trippier and Davies’ left-back counterpart, Danny Rose.
Serge Aurier, Victor Wanyama, Vincent Janssen, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Josh Onomah and Marcus Edwards are also names that Tottenham are apparently willing to part with this summer.
If Spurs were to sell Rose, Trippier and Aurier they would surely have to sign at least one new full-back this summer.
While Tottenham haven’t been linked with too many of them so far this window, they are rumoured to be interested in Marseille’s, Hiroki Saki.
