American Greg Whittington (203-F-93) had an amazing evening in the last round for Galil Gilboa and that’s him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 11. The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and seventeen rebounds, while his team lost the game against Rishon (#9, 4-7) 99-107. Galil Gilboa maintains the 5th position in Israeli Winner League. Galil Gilboa is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 5th lost game this season out of 11 games. In the team’s last game Whittington had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Galil Gilboa’s top player in his first season with the team. Rutgers, The State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Whittington is in league’s top in rebounds (6th best: 7.8rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 65.4% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 26-year old American guard Corey Walden (188-G-92) of Holon. Walden impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. 27-year old center Javier Carter (203-C-91) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Kiryat Motzkin and receives a Interperformances National League Player of the Week award for round 10. He had a double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Ramat Gan (#10, 4-7) with 18-point margin 91-73. Kiryat Motzkin maintains the 2nd position in Israeli National League. They are still close to the very top. Kiryat Motzkin would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 9-2 record. In the team’s last game Carter had a remarkable 84.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Kiryat Motzkin’s top player in his first season with the team. Javier Carter averages this season 18.8ppg and 7.9rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Quintrell Thomas (203-PF-90) of Hod Hasharon. He is American-Jamaican forward in his first season at Hod Hasharon. In the last game Thomas recorded impressive double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds. Of course Hod Hasharon cruised to a 93-85 relatively comfortable win over Kfar Saba (3-8). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Hod Hasharon managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 12th place. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Hod Hasharon managed to get this year. Thomas is a newcomer at Hod Hasharon and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.0ppg (#4). He also registered 11.8 boards per game.
Third place about best performers goes to Kahiem Seawright (206-C/F-86) of Afula (#6). Seawright scored 25 points and grabbed nineteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Seawright’s great performance Afula lost 112-118 to H.Haifa (6-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Afula needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 6 victories and 5 lost games. Seawright has a great season in Israel. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 19.1ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 12.9rpg (#1 in league).

This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Bnei Hasharon (4-7) to eighth ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (5-6) 81-79 on Wednesday evening.
