Brave 15 takes place Friday night, live in North America on Fite.tv
Brave Combat Federation held the ceremonial weigh-ins for Brave 15 at the Chicamocha Hotel, in Bucaramanga, Colombia. There was an intense staredown between lightweights Godofredo “Pepey” Castro and Alex “Rolo” Torres ahead of their main event fight. The Colombian sensation Torres received a hero’s welcome as he weighed in under the limit at 69.4 kg. But he was met with intensity from “Pepey”, who makes his Brave and lightweight debut in Bucaramanga. The crowd went crazy as both men promised to put on a show as Brave lands for the first time in the country.
In the co-main event, featherweight rising star Gabriel “Fly” Miranda sent shockwaves through the crowd with his intensity as the Brazilian weighed in at the featherweight limit of 66.2 kg and had a fierce staredown with Fernando Noriega, also at 66.2 kg., that was kept under control by Brave CF president Mohammed “The Hawk” Shahid.
The catchweight duel between Eduardo “Matrix” and Matías Juarez also saw some trash talk between both fighters, who had to be separated by “The Hawk”. Also in attendance were play-by-play commentator Robin Black and color commentator and MMA pioneer Kirik Jenness, who almost had to step in to help Shahid contain “Matrix” and Juarez.
Brave 15 marks the first time the promotion lands in Colombia and will feature an eight-fight card with seven Brazilians defending their country’s honor in enemy territory. Brave Combat Federation will host shows in another six countries by the end of 2018: United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Bahrain, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and India.
