Brian Kelleher won spectacularly just two weeks ago, and now he’ll be back in the Octagon less than two weeks from now.

MMA Junkie reports that the veteran UFC bantamweight Brian Kelleher will take on #12 ranked Cody Stamann at UFC 250 on June 6th, likely in Las Vegas. BJPenn.com was first to reveal the new matchup.

Kelleher (21-10) has dispatched Dana White’s Contender Series signings in consecutive victories. After submitting Ode Osbourne at UFC 246, the New Yorker followed that up with an entertaining KO of Hunter Azure at UFC Jacksonville on May 13th. The win over Azure took place at featherweight, and that will also be the case for him against Stamann.

Stamann (18-2-1) was very unfortunate to have come away with a draw against Song Yadong in his last fight. It looked as if Stamann had done enough to win on the scorecards, but even with Song’s point deduction he did not get his hand raised. Through six UFC appearances, his only loss has come against Aljamain Sterling by Suloev stretch, otherwise he’s been one of the more under-the-radar talents in this deep division.

UFC 250 is headlined by a women’s featherweight title bout between two-division champion Amanda Nunes and Canada’s Felicia Spencer.
