Getting into Zidane’s good books

Real Madrid midfielder Isco has given his reaction to Zinedine Zidane’s return to the Bernabeu after Santiago Solari was sacked on Monday.

In one of the most sensational moves of the season, Zidane has returned to the club he decided to leave last summer.

Following his third consecutive Champions League trophy, the Frenchman decided it was time to end his Real Madrid career.

Cristiano Ronaldo soon followed him out the door as he joined Juventus.

That left former Spain boss Julen Lopetegui to pick up the pieces and keep Real Madrid on top of European football.

However, that didn’t go to plan.

Lopetegui failed to impress and was quickly sacked, with Santiago Solari taking over.

After an initial period of success, Solari ran into the same problems Lopetegui did.

His sacking was confirmed on Monday with Zidane returning to take his place.

Now, midfielder Isco has given his reaction.

“It’s good news for everyone that he’s coming back to Madrid”

Despite being linked with a move away from Real Madrid while Zidane was in charge, Isco is happy to see him back.

“We all know him,” Isco explained, as quoted by the Mirror.

“As a player at Madrid he was impressive. As a coach he has won everything. It’s good news for everyone that he’s coming back to Madrid.

“It says a lot about him that he’s coming back at a complicated moment. I hope he can put us on the path to victory.

“Madrid has the highest demands. We are obliged to win every trophy. Even though this hasn’t been our year, we have confidence we’ll return stronger than ever. Our history forces us to.”
