Center Nikita Ivanov (205-C-91, agency: Alti Sport) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Dyn-Magn.ChL, receiving a Interperformances Superleague 2 Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (21 points, nine rebounds and three assists) to his team’s victory, helping them to beat Elbrus Cherk. (#13, 1-17) 88-81. It allowed Dyn-Magn.ChL to take over top position in the Russian Superleague 2. Dyn-Magn.ChL have a solid 16-2 record. In the team’s last game Ivanov had a remarkable 90.0% from 2-point range. It’s his second year at Dyn-Magn.ChL and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Nikita Ivanov has solid league stats. He is in league’s top in points (4th best: 16.7ppg), rebounds (8th best: 7.4rpg) and averages impressive 66.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round’s games was 25-year old Denis Magan (197-F-93, agency: Alti Sport) of Neftekhimik T.. Magan had a very good evening with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Neftekhimik T. cruised to a 89-80 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Dynamo STV (#12, 4-14). Despite this victory Neftekhimik T. slide down in the standings to 8th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 8-10 record. Magan is a newcomer at Neftekhimik T. and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was Ukrainian center Nikolay Eremin (205-C-85) of Dynamo-MGTU (#11). Eremin scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was a key player of Dynamo-MGTU, leading his team to a 97-73 easy win against the higher-ranked Cheb.Yastreby (#4, 10-6). Dynamo-MGTU can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-12 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Eremin he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Eremin has a very solid season. In 16 games in Russia he scored 15.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Yuriy Kochnev (209-C-89) of Dynamo-MGTU – 16 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Yuriy Trubin (206-C/F-94) of Ryazan – 18 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Maksim Abyzov (191-G-90) of Dynamo-MGTU – 21 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists
7. Artem Pisarchuk (205-C/F-92) of Runa Basket – 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Leonid Nikitenko (189-G-92) of Elbrus Cherk. – 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Vadim Balyakin (200-F-90) of Dyn-Magn.ChL – 23 points and 5 rebounds
10. Grigoriy Andreev (193-G/F-90) of Runa Basket – 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
