Manchester United eyeing Sancho

Manchester United are set to launch a bid in excess of £80m for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho this summer, according to the Evening Standard.

Sources close to the paper are claiming that United are doing ‘everything in their power’ to land the 18-year-old.

However, Dortmund have also come out and said that Sancho is not for sale no matter the price.

Man United were fearful that Manchester City would have put a ‘United clause’ in Sancho’s deal when he left for Germany, like they did with Brahim Diaz.

Luckily for United no such clause was put in the forwards deal and United are able to sign him.

Sancho is contracted to Dortmund until at least July of 2022.

Sancho’s impressive 2018/19 season

Sancho made the switch to Dortmund in 2017 for a fee of around £7m.

After failing to make an appearance for Man City’s first-team, signing Sancho for £7m may have seemed a bit much.

However, over the last few seasons, Sancho has proven himself to be one of the brightest prospects in European football.

Sancho has made 35 appearances across all competitions for Dortmund this season.

In those games, the Englishman has scored nine and assisted 17.

The youngster is also now currently on international duty with England.

England face Czech Republic this coming Friday in their first Euro 2020 qualifier.

Gareth Southgate’s side will then take on Montenegro on Sunday.
