Pepe has contract with Besiktas terminated
Pepe could potentially be set to join Wolves in the upcoming January window, according to Portuguese outlet, Record.
Pepe was previously playing in Turkey for Besiktas were he managed 52 appearances, scoring seven and assisting three.
However, the 35-year-old would have his contract terminated earlier this month with Record suggesting it was because of his high wage.
But this does now mean that Wolves would be able to sign Pepe for free in January.
The newly-promoted side were linked with a move for Pepe during the summer.
Pepe is also a client of Jorge Mendes who has several other clients at Wolves such as Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota.
Wolves’ impressive start to the season
While Pepe would be a good addition to Wolves squad, they are not exactly doing badly this season.
Despite it being their first season back in the Premier League Wolves currently sit in 7th place after 17 games.
They are also just one point behind 6th place Manchester United.
Wolves have the best defence outside of the top four, letting in just 19 goals in 17 games, less than both Arsenal and Man United.
However, Wolves next game is a tough test vs an unbeaten Liverpool on Friday evening.
