PSG sporting director Antero Henrique has this evening confirmed that Adrien Rabiot is set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Rabiot, a gifted 23-year-old midfielder, has spent his entire career to date on PSG’s books.

After first breaking into the Parisian outfit’s first-team setup at the tender age of 17, Rabiot soon showcased the kind of potential that saw him labelled as one of the finest young talents in the recent history of French football.

The Frenchman’s poise, vision, athleticism and eye for goal allowed Rabiot to rack up a hugely-credible 25 Ligue 1 appearances during the 2013-14 campaign, despite being just 18 years of age.

And the seasons since have seen the 6-time capped French international’s prominence only continue to grow at the Parc des Princes.

Last season, Rabiot appeared in 33 of PSG’s 38 Ligue 1 outings, on his way to yet another league title.

In addition, the Frenchman was counted on when it mattered most, starting all 8 of his side’s Champions League fixtures.

Rabiot’s exit links

However, despite his crucial role in the midfield ranks at the Parc des Princes, Rabiot has nevertheless been heavily-linked with a potential departure for several years now.

Rabiot’s PSG contract is set to expire next summer, with the gifted technician having, to this point, point-blank refused to put pen to paper on a new deal in Paris.

As such, he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club next month.

The likes of Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been named as expressing an interest in the 23-year-old, though a report from French outlet Le10Sport earlier today revealed that Spurs, Rabiot’s ‘most determined suitors’, had been informed by the Frenchman’s entourage that he would not be joining the North Londoners:

‘Wishes to leave the club’

And, in the most significant piece of news yet for the Frenchman’s remaining suitors, it has since confirmed by PSG sporting director Antero Henrique that Rabiot has informed the Ligue 1 champions of his intention to see out his current deal and depart the club as a free agent next summer.

As such, Rabiot is set to be ‘indefinitely benched’ moving forward:
