Spurs not happy with Man United focus

Tottenham media officials prevented Mauricio Pochettino from answering questions about Manchester United during his pre-Everton press conference.

It came as no surprise that following Jose Mourinho’s sacking, attention would turn to who would replace him.

Pochettino has been a linked with a move to Man United for a while now and that has seen him thrown back into the headlines with a spot to fill at the club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær will take over at the club until the end of the season in a caretaker role but Man United will now start searching for the long-term successor to Jose Mourinho.

With that in mind, questions were always going to be posed to Pochettino today.

His side are set to take on Everton this weekend and held his press conference before that game today.

However, the headlines will be dominated by Spurs’ media officer.

Club put gag on Mauricio Pochettino?

That is because when Pochettino was asked about the vacant Man United job, the media officer wouldn’t allow him to answer the question.

The question was asked by Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth and came in relation to recent speculation on Pochettino.

However, midway through asking, he was told that similar questions were asked in a press conference 48 hours prior and he wasn’t prepared to let another press conference be dominated by Manchester United questions.

Despite Dharmesh pressing, he was repeatedly told to move on.

Pochettino even joked when everything had calmed down that the press officer would be the star of the conference!

Safe to say, this won’t stop questions over his future and he will likely have to deal with them until next summer when Manchester United’s next permanent manager is announced.
