TK Edogi (ex Kangoeroes) is a newcomer at Sakarya BSB – Dec 23, 2018
Sakarya Buyuksehir Basketbol (BSL) strengthened their roster with addition of 24-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) forward TK Edogi (203-103kg-94, college: Iona). He already started the season at Kangoeroes in Belgian Euromillions League, but was released by the team in Dec.’18. In 5 Euromillions League games he recorded just 2.0ppg and 1.6rpg this season. The last season Edogi played at Iona College in NCAA in the NCAA where in 33 games he averaged 8.8ppg, 7.2rpg and 1.2bpg. Edogi helped them to win MAAC Tournament. He just graduated from Iona College and it is his first season in pro basketball.
Afyon Belediyespor (BSL) tabbed 24-year old American forward Robert Carter (206-114kg-94, college: Maryland). He already started the season at Zhejiang Chouzhou in Chinese CBA league. Carter also spent pre-season at Gaziantep earlier that year. He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016. Among other achievements Carter’s team made it to the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals in 2016. He received also NABC All-District 7 2nd Team award in 2016 at his college time. Carter has played previously professionally in Italy and Lithuania (Rytas). He attended University of Maryland until 2016 and it is his third season in pro basketball. Good shooting touch from the perimeter and the skill to be able to stretch defenses … Difficult to guard in the post and keep off of the backboards … Plays unselfishly and passes the ball well.

This week’s number one is an international guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-93, agency: BeoBasket, college: Florida, currently plays in Israel). He was the major contributor in a Maccabi T-A‘s victory against the closely-ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (6-3) 91-78 in the Israeli Winner League in Saturday night’s game.
Wilbekin recorded 20 points and added 3 passes in 26 minutes on the court.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv (8-2) is placed first in the Winner League.
It’s Wilbekin’s first season with the team.
He has relatively good stats this year: 11.5ppg, 3.3rpg, 4.8apg, 2FGP: 43.8%, 3FGP: 48.6%(17-35) and FT: 66.7% in six games he played so far.
Wilbekin is a naturalized American.
Despite he played previously for the USA U19 national team, Wilbekin is currently a member of the Turkish senior national team. He used to play for Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul in Turkish league.
#2. Second place goes to former international center Enes Kanter (211-92, college: Kentucky, currently plays in NBA). Kanter could not help the New York Knicks (9-25) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance the New York Knicks (9-25) were defeated 110-99 on the road by the Indiana Pacers.
Kanter recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 15 rebounds.
Kanter has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.0ppg, 11.1rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 56.4%(203-360), 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 83.8%.
Kanter played for the Turkish national team in 2014.
#3. The Turkish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Cedi Osman (204-95, currently plays in NBA). He was not able to help the Cleveland Cavaliers (8-25) in their last game. Despite Osman’s very good performance the Cleveland Cavaliers (8-25) were crushed 128-105 in Philadelphia by the 76ers.
He was the top scorer with 18 points. Osman also added 4 rebounds in 35 minutes.
Osman has very impressive stats this year: 11.3ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 44.6%, 3FGP: 29.7% and FT: 78.9% in 31 games.
He has a dual citizenship: FYR Macedonian and Turkish.
Ex-Pertevniyal Istanbul player is also a member of the Turkish senior national team.
#4. Guard Furkan Korkmaz (198-97, currently plays in NBA) led Philadelphia 76ers to an easy victory against the Toronto Raptors (25-10) crushing them 126-101 in the NBA in Saturday night’s game.
Korkmaz recorded 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
The Philadelphia 76ers have a solid 22-12 record this season.
Korkmaz’s overall stats this year are: 6.1ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.2apg.
He is also Turkish national team player.
#5. U20 international forward Baris Ulker (203-97, currently plays in NAIA) was not able to secure a victory for the Oklahoma Panhandle State University (1-3) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance his team was defeated 103-90 in McPherson by the Central Christian College.
Ulker recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 3 assists (made all of his seven free throws).
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
This year Ulker has very high stats. He averages: 18.5ppg, 9.8rpg, 1.5apg and 1.2spg.
Ulker used to play for the Turkish U20 national team
last year.
#6. Center Mutlu Demir (210-87, currently plays in France) couldn’t help ALS Basket (6-10) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the tenth-placed ALS Basket (6-10) lost 79-83 on the opponent’s court to the higher-ranked (#5) Besancon in the Group A.
Demir was the top scorer with 27 points. He also added 6 rebounds in 41 minutes.
It was ALS Basket’s third consecutive loss in a row.
Demir has very impressive stats this year: 17.1ppg and 5.4rpg in 15 games.
He is a former international player as he played for the Turkish senior team nine years ago.
#7. Former U18 international forward Erkam Kiris (203-98, currently plays in NCAA2) contributed to a Davis & Elkins College‘s victory against the Glenville State College 80-75 in the NCAA2 last Monday.
Kiris recorded 6 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. The Davis & Elkins College has record this season.
Kiris’ overall stats this year are: 3.7ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.1apg.
He used to play for the Turkish U18 national team

#8. Forward Yalim Olcay (203, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn’t help the W.Carolina (0-1) in their game against the High Point University in the NCAA. Olcay cannot count Saturday’s game as one of the best ones.
He recorded only 2 points.
his team was crushed 86-59 at home by the University.
The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA.
This season Olcay averages just 1.3ppg.
He used to play for the Turkish U16 national team
back in 2015.

#2.Emre Yildirim (188-G-98, currently plays in NCAA2) contributed to a Davis & Elkins College‘s victory against the Davis & Elkins College 91-81 in a derby game in the NCAA2 on Saturday night.
Yildirim scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 19 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. The Davis & Elkins College has record this season.
This year Yildirim’s overall stats are: 5.9ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.2apg in 10 games.
#3.Alperen Kurnaz (203-F-99, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Denver to beat the Gonzaga University.
He recorded only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
