Experienced Arda Korkmaz) had a very impressive game in the last round for GELISIM KOLEJI and that’s him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 15. The had a double-double of 22 points and twenty rebounds, while his team outclassed Afyon (#9, 1-13) with 30-point margin 79-49. Gelisim Koleji maintains the 5th position in their group in Turkish U19 League. Gelisim Koleji is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-7 record. In the team’s last game Korkmaz had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Gelisim Koleji’s top player in his first season with the team. Korkmaz has impressive league stats. He is in league’s top in points (9th best: 16.9ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.8rpg) and averages solid 50.7% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 17-year old forward Eren Has (201-F-01) of league’s best team ANADOLU EFES. Has impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Anadolu Efes to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Arel Univ. (#8, 3-10) 117-54. Of course Anadolu Efes still keep Group A’s top spot. He plays for the best team in the league and Anadolu Efes managed to win all 13 games keeping a perfect record. Has is well-known by Anadolu Efes fans and he already established his position as one of team’s most reliable players.
The third best performed player last round was Mert Akay (198-G) of Darussafaka (#3). Akay showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, six rebounds and ten assists (!!!) in the last round. Despite Akay’s great performance Darussafaka lost 71-80 to #4 ranked TED Ankara. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Darussafaka had another “accident”. It may be a crucial game. Akay’s teammates are also very good. That’s why having such high stats is even more impressive. Akay has a great season in Turkey. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 17.3ppg (6th best) and assists with 5.8apg (5th best).

Australian Forward Brock Motum (208-F-90) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Anadolu Efes, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 13. The 28-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, eight rebounds) to his team’s victory, helping them to outclass Pinar Karsiyaka (#11, 5-8) with 28-point margin 104-76. Anadolu Efes is placed at 2nd position in Turkish BSL. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Anadolu Efes will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. In the team’s last game Motum had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. It’s his second year at Anadolu Efes and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Brock Motum averages this season 17.2ppg and 6.0rpg.
The second best player in last round’s games was 29-year old American Marcos Knight (188-G-89, agency: BeoBasket) of Afyon. Knight had a very good evening with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course Afyon cruised to a 94-84 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Buyukcekmece (#9, 5-7). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Afyon managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 12th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 4-8 record. Knight is well-known at Afyon and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.
Third on the list of top players last round was American center Devin Williams (206-C-94) of Buyukcekmece (#9). Williams scored 17 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Williams’ great performance Buyukcekmece lost 84-94 to the lower-ranked Afyon (#12, 4-8). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Buyukcekmece ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 7 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Williams could help Buyukcekmece to bring them higher in the standings. Williams has a great season in Turkey. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 19.4ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 12.3rpg (#1 in league).

Croatian Karlo Vragovic (192-G-89, agency: BeoExcell) put on an amazing game in the last round for Bursaspor and that’s him to receive a Interperformances TBL Player of the Week award for round 12. The 29-year old guard had the game-high 25 points adding seven rebounds and six assists for Bursaspor in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Bandirma Kir. (#14, 2-10) 94-84. Bursaspor maintains the 3rd position in Turkish TBL. They are still close to the very top. Bursaspor would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 10-2 record. Vragovic has many years of experience at Bursaspor, through which he has constantly improved. Karlo Vragovic averages this season 12.3ppg and 4.2apg.

Tarrant impressed basketball fans with 39 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Artvin lost that game 85-93 to slightly higher-ranked Petkim (#9, 6-6). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Artvin dropped in the standings to 10th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 5-7 record. Tarrant is a newcomer at Artvin and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.3ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 4.3rpg and 5.0apg.
The third best performed player last round was American Markus Kennedy (206-C/F-91) of Petkim (#9). Kennedy scored 24 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Petkim, leading his team to a 93-85 win against slightly lower-ranked Artvin (#10, 5-7). Petkim needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 6 lost games. Kennedy has a great season in Turkey. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 9.1rpg (5th best).
