Experienced Arda Korkmaz) had a very impressive game in the last round for GELISIM KOLEJI and that’s him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 15.
The had a double-double of 22 points and twenty rebounds, while his team outclassed Afyon (#9, 1-13) with 30-point margin 79-49. Gelisim Koleji maintains the 5th position in their group in Turkish U19 League. Gelisim Koleji is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-7 record. In the team’s last game Korkmaz had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Gelisim Koleji’s top player in his first season with the team. Korkmaz has impressive league stats. He is in league’s top in points (9th best: 16.9ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.8rpg) and averages solid 50.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 17-year old forward Eren Has (201-F-01) of league’s best team ANADOLU EFES. Has impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Anadolu Efes to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Arel Univ. (#8, 3-10) 117-54. Of course Anadolu Efes still keep Group A’s top spot. He plays for the best team in the league and Anadolu Efes managed to win all 13 games keeping a perfect record. Has is well-known by Anadolu Efes fans and he already established his position as one of team’s most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Mert Akay (198-G) of Darussafaka (#3). Akay showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, six rebounds and ten assists (!!!) in the last round. Despite Akay’s great performance Darussafaka lost 71-80 to #4 ranked TED Ankara. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Darussafaka had another “accident”. It may be a crucial game. Akay’s teammates are also very good. That’s why having such high stats is even more impressive. Akay has a great season in Turkey. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 17.3ppg (6th best) and assists with 5.8apg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Nadir Keloglu (207-C) of Anadolu Efes – 16 points and 10 rebounds
5. Can Koc) of Gaziantep – 22 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Selahattin Yalcin (01) of TAC NEF – 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Ege Sun) of Besiktas – 17 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Cihat Dalgali (205-C-01) of TED Ankara – 21 points and 9 rebounds
9. Enes Bayraktar (186-G-02) of Anadolu Efes – 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Arda Gurtan (02) of Gelisim Koleji – 17 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
