Dwight Howard Warned About Not Wearing Mask After Tip-Off

Dwight Howard was a victim of the NBA tip line that was created to anonymously report players violating policies.

He was caught without a mask on and was warned that he must wear it at all times.

“Somebody told on me,” Howard said Wednesday in an Instagram Live post, broadcast to his 2.7 million followers.

While the bubble has held coronavirus cases under wrap with only two positive tests, it hasn’t really been tested yet.

Teams have held practices but haven’t scrimmaged against other teams yet.

It’s pretty early on in the process and everyone is going to need to buy in and follow protocol for the restart to succeed.

Florida now tops all states in the country for new COVID-19 cases making guidelines to insure the NBA bubble that much more imperative.

If COVID-19 were to infiltrate the league’s setup, the season would be shut down again.

The NBA is enforcing a strict protocol and will hold violators accountable.

Lakers coach Frank Vogel was well aware of the report on Howard.

“[My] reaction is that we all should be wearing masks in and around the hotel lobby,” Vogel said. “And the areas that we’re being asked to wear a mask, we should wear a mask. And he’s doing so now.”

The Lakers can’t afford to lose Howard for any period of time over a face mask violation.

They’re title contenders and need all hands on deck.
