It’s a … boy!
Country music power couple Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd announced Tuesday via social media that they’re expecting a child.
Morris, a 29-year-old Grammy Award winner known for “I Could Use A Love Song,” “My Church” and 2019 hit “Girl,” posted that “the irony is just too rich that after a year of living in the ‘GIRL’ headspace, the universe would give us a baby boy to even things out.”
“See you in 2020, little one,” she added.
The songwriting couple began dating in 2015 and married in March 2018; this will be their first child.
Hurd, a 32-year-old who’s penned songs for Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan and Lady Antebellum, shared via Instagram that he “cannot believe this life with this girl.”
“MY BOYS CAN SWIM,” Hurd posted. “BABY BOY HURD 2020.”
Morris leads 2019 CMA Award nominations with six, including Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for “Girl.”
