Burnley boss Sean Dyche hits out at West Ham spending
West Ham spent big
Burnley manager Sean Dyche has hit out at West Ham.
He noted that the Hammers have spent a huge amount of money.
That’s in direct contrast to his Burnley side, who are of course on a huge budget.
West Ham are moving up the table, but Burnley seem to be deeply struggling and are one of the favourites for the drop now.
Sky Sports report Dyche said: “They’re a good squad. You look at the players – they’ve had different challenges. They’ve spent a fortune in the summer.
“There’s some real quality there but they still have days when they concede goals, so they are a team you can attack and get at.”
Relegation issues for Dyche
He also spoke about the financial issues at Burnley.
Dyche made it clear his hands are tied in terms of the money that can be spent.
Burnley simply won’t splash huge money on players – and it could come back to haunt them.
Dyche has done an incredible job, but without money, it’s hard to see how Burnley can survive.
He added: “The market has changed, we attempt to adapt with it, but the club is run in a certain way and that makes it even more difficult.
“If you look at the last three windows, look at the net spend of other clubs, you’ll be amazed what they have spent. But we haven’t. That’s because Burnley is run in a certain way.”
