Premier League title-chasers Manchester City have this afternoon been dealt a potential blow, after star hitman Sergio Aguero appeared to limp off during the Citizens’ clash with Fulham.

Fulham vs Man City

Pep Guardiola’s men travelled to Craven Cottage a short time ago, for a Premier League matchup.

The visitors headed into proceedings having embarked on an absolutely scintillating run of form ahead of the international break.

A run of 11 consecutive victories across all competitions saw City secure the League Cup title, their place in both the semi-finals of the FA Cup and quarter-finals of the Champions League, and reemerge as favourites to clinch the Premier League title.

Fulham, on the other hand, had fallen to 7 straight defeats, leaving the Cottagers languishing in 19th-place in the English top-flight.

City cruise to 3 points

As such, it came as little surprise when City went on to make short work of their hosts this afternoon.

The Citizens took just 5 minutes to open the game’s scoring, as a needless giveaway on the part of Timothy Fosu-Mensah eventually led to Bernardo Silva rifling home from the edge of the area.

And it was 2-0 shortly before the half-hour mark, as another Fulham mistake saw Bernardo Silva this time turn provider, slipping Sergio Aguero in for a typically-sumptuous finish.

Aguero concern

Surprisingly, this was how the scoreline remained for the closing hour of the clash, as City cruised back to the summit of the Premier League table.

However, on an otherwise positive day for the travelling side, one source of concern came in the form of what appeared to be an injury problem picked up by Sergio Aguero.

The Argentine striker signalled to Pep Guardiola with 55 minutes on the clock that he was in discomfort, before gingerly making his way to the sideline to be replaced by Gabriel Jesus.

As such, City now face an anxious wait to discover the extent of Aguero’s issue, ahead of their next outing versus Cardiff on Wednesday night.
