Juan Foyth opens up on 2018/19 season

Juan Foyth joined Tottenham in July of 2017 for a fee of around £11m from Argentine outfit, Estudiantes.

Since joining Spurs Foyth has had somewhat of an up and down time.

Foyth’s first season at Spurs was not the best and he did not make a single Premier League appearance last campaign.

The 20-year-old would then begin this season with an injury.

However, Foyth has since been given a chance to shine in Tottenham’s first team picture.

Foyth has now made six Premier League appearances this season, in which he has scored one.

However, the youngster has, at times, looked slightly shaky for Tottenham.

Despite this, Foyth believes he is improving as a player:

“I wasn’t really fully prepared to play in the Premier League back then but after training extensively with players like Davinson [Sanchez], Jan [Vertonghen] and Toby [Alderweireld], I think I have learned a lot in that time.”

“The last few months have been incredible for me. I’ve really enjoyed it recently, but I can’t stop. I have to keep working and keep improving every day.

“I think I have improved a lot in the time I have been here. It was a good decision I feel, to come here.”

Tranmere Rovers vs Tottenham

Tottenham’s next clash sees them face Tranmere Rovers in the 3rd round of the FA Cup on Friday.

Given Foyth has not featured in Spurs last two league games, he is likely to start vs Tranmere.

As Spurs have yet to win a trophy under Mauricio Pochettino it is likely he will play a relatively strong side to ensure they progress on Friday.

However, that should not be too difficult as Tranmere currently sit 9th in League Two.
