Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been forced to deny instructing the Anfield ground staff to clear snow from just Leicester City’s half during Wednesday’s Premier League clash.

Heavy snow fell as the Reds were held to a 1-1 draw with the Foxes as they extended their lead at the top of the league to five points.

During the half-time break, the ground staff cleared only one half of the pitch – the end which the home side were attacking.

Kop End cleared at half-time, other end left untouched

During the break, ground staff rushed towards the Kop End to clear the snow that had settled on the turf.

However, the other half was left untouched, raising question marks as to why.

Liverpool were due to attack the end which had been cleared.

Both goals in the game came in the first-half with Harry Maguire cancelling out Sadio Mane’s opener.

However, despite taking just a point, Manchester City’s defeat to Newcastle United meant the Reds moved five points clear.

Klopp denies instructing ground staff to clear just Leicester’s half

Klopp has denied the ground staff were instructed to clear just the end Liverpool were attacking.

The German manager claims a lack of manpower was the reasoning for just one end being cleared.

Klopp said:

“The situation was what everybody saw.

“When we were warming up it started snowing and the pitch was completely okay.

“Then we went in and it was full of wet snow when we came out, it was really difficult.
